We met up with Kurt Stoodley (@KurtStoodley), one of Ottawa’s most well known media broadcasters who has recently just departed from the CTV Morning Live show, so naturally we had to find out what was going on! We met up with him at the Eagle Creek golf course in Dunrobin, Ontario, so it’s a very quiet, serene, beautiful area and spoke about:
– His chipping problems
– Where he is from and about his family’s ties to broadcasting
– When he came to Ottawa and is he going to stay?
– How the morning show came about
– His times on the show
– Does he make it back to Newfoundland enough?
– Favourite restaurants such as Newport Restaurant for pizza and Fratelli’s pizzas
– Where he would take relatives and friends when they come for visits
– What golf courses he enjoys in Ottawa. His favourite being Eagle Creek. Greensmere is another. Equinelle is another.
After the break we discussed:
– The charitable aspects of Ottawa, more specifically, the golf tournaments
– Some of the memorable stories from the show
– He wanted a Double-A baseball team coming here, unfortunately we have to settle with a Can-Am Pro team. Just not the same…
– Will he be a marshall at a golf course?
– Here is Dan McNeil’s Book “Can’t Buy Me Love” on Amazon
Here is a clip from Kurt Stoodley’s last day at CTV Morning Live (Warning: You might shed tears):
