Today we had the pleasure of having the amazing husband and wife combo interior design team of Sacha Leclair and Melissa Leclair who are behind Leclair Decor. Melissa is also a very personable and knowledgable realtor with Keller Williams, her webpage can be found here. Sacha is an incredible photographer and his designs have been “Instagram Gold”, Melissa’s are incredible as well. Look them up at sachaleclair and melmarieleclair.
In our first segment we spoke about Production Ottawa and the bi-weekly podcasts that they put out about everything theatre and arts related, please take a listen, we have a great arts culture in the city! I then spoke about Creative Mornings Ottawa, a monthly gathering of creative minds from Ottawa. Each event is free of charge, and includes a 20 minute talk, followed by a group discussion and Q&A. The gathering begins at 8:30am with the topic presentation starting at 9:00am and everyone taking off for work by 10am. This month’s was with Steve Beauchesne, founder of Beau’s brewery. It was a great event and I hope you add them on Facebook and get out to the next event. Andrew then came on and informed our listeners about the 3 hour parking bylaw that Ottawa has. Not everyone knows this but if you park over 3 hours on any road in Ottawa, if someone complains, you could get a $35 ticket. I am not a fan.
In our second segment we talk all things Ottawa. One of the Leclair’s favorite restaurants is Taylor’s Genuine Food and Wine Bar. It is the sister restaurant of John Taylor’s Domus cafe which is also a favorite of the Leclairs. Finally when they have friends in town, La Bottega is a much visit for their cheap but incredible sandwiches. La Bottega is found in the Byward market and is a must for any travellers to the city!
In our final segment we get to know more about Leclair decor, what fuels their passion and great results. We talk about:
- how they started
- their style
- favorite projects (NRML Femme on the right being one of them)
- what their process is and how affordable their professional services are
- the benefits of going with an interior designer
- what pieces they enjoy in a home
- and a quick holiday tip as Christmas decoration using the best outdoor christmas lights for this!
I hope you enjoy this episode. Please like us on Facebook and share with your friends and family!
