First I want to apologize to Autumns Cannon for the audio on this one. The internet connection was not very good in Jim’s office and my cell phone tethering was not working for some strange reason. We had to record this then upload it.
The first song from Autumns Cannon was Let the Money Run Dry. They opened for the Arkells at the Sparks Street and will be touring across Canada in 2013. We will probably see them at Bluesfest. Their first album should be out in Spring 2013. Buy it when it comes out!
What you can expect from listening to this edition:
– Does Jim do his own Twittering?
– Jim still using a Blackberry
– What brought Jim to Ottawa?
– His time working in the Federal Government
– His time as president of the Carleton Alumni Association
– Why he decided to run for city council for the first time
– His first home in Old Ottawa South
– Why he came back from MPP to become Mayor for a second time
– He has only owned 2 homes during his time in Ottawa and is not a gardener
– One of his favorite restaurants was called The Avenue in the Glebe
– Another was the Newport restaurant that recently closed
– He still enjoys the Keg Manor and Play food & wine
At the break we played Shake it Off by Autumns Cannon, once again poor quality, I am sorry. It is still a good song.
– We started after the break talking about the success of New Years in Ottawa, many different options that we haven’t had in the past
– The Zipline going down Sparks Street and the future of Sparks Street
– Presto passes for the OC Transpo are coming, Jim clarify why these will be revolutionary
– Laurier bike lanes and the future
– The 13km 13 station LRT which is the first phase, it will be growing through the future. Trains coming by in rush hour every 3 minutes
– Lansdowne Park revitalization and how traffic will work during events
– Other great events coming to Ottawa in the coming years
The final song we play by Autumns Cannon is their single Open Letter.
