The music we feature this week is from the Ottawa group The Musettes. There new EP “Wanderlust” will be launched on June 21st, 2014. I highly recommend you go check them out live when you can, such a fun group! Visit their Facebook page here.

This week we met up with John Swettenham, the acting vice-president of Experience and Engagement at the Museum of Nature. He will soon return to leading the marketing & media department. The museum is always changing and gets about 2,000 visitors a day thus it is a very important part of our great city of Ottawa. I hope that if you have not visited in a long time, you check it out now. We go over:

– What John’s views of Ottawa are
– How he came to work at the museum
– His favourite restaurants in the area (Colonnade Pizza and Al’s Steakhouse)
– The new brunch at the museum on Sunday’s
– How many employees are working at the museum
– Are we still discovering new species in Canada
– How has global warming aided discovery or ruined it?
– How have the reviews been for the new Creatures of the Light exhibit
– What are some of the things they are proud of?
– What are some of their other galleries
– We are introduced to their special exhibit on the Passenger Pigeon in July

After the break we discussed:

-All about Nature Nocturne
– What is the future of Nature Nocturne
